The State of Illinois will pay you for the amount of energy you are expected to generate. The payment amount is based on the size and efficiency of your system. Many other states have similar programs.

NET-METERING

Laws in Illinois and other states require electric utilities to give you 1 for 1 energy credits when your PV system is producing more energy than you are using. At night and on rainy days, you will use these credits instead of buying electricity.
